Using images of consistent quality, size, and proportion gives your webshop a more professional appearance. You can assign multiple images to an item. Unlike the default image support in Business Central, Tinx Connector has no limit on the number of images you can assign to a product.
You can also include metadata with each image to provide the webshop with the relevant product information. It’s also good practice to establish a naming convention for your files and to organize them so you can find the originals when needed. In each file name, include the item number, optionally followed by an incremental number.
Enable image synchronization
The procedures in this article require that the appropriate synchronization dashboard and message definitions are running. Activate them depending on what you are going to achieve.
The following tables show the synchronization dashboard and message definition for some of the webshops. The codes for other supported webshops follow the same pattern.
| Direction | Webshop | Synchronization dashboard | Message definition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Publish | WooCommerce | WOO-OUT-PRODUCTS | WOO-020 |
| Magento | M2R_OUT_PRODUCTS | M2R-051 |
There is no specific message definition for Shopify in the default mapping.
To set up image location type
-
Select Search (Alt+Q) in the upper-right corner, enter E-Commerce Integration Setup, and then choose the related link.
If you don’t find E-Commerce Integration Setup in Search, change your role in Business Central to TINX E-Com Admin. Then on the Role Center, select Setup, and then choose E-Commerce Integration Setup.
-
On the Product Catalog FastTab, in the Parameters for Images section, in the Image File Location Type field, select where the images are located.
- Choose URL if images are hosted at a web address.
- Choose File if images are stored on your local system or server.
If you are using Dynamics 365 Business Central on-premises, fill in the Path to Images field.
To assign images to an item
Select Search (Alt+Q) in the upper-right corner, enter Webshop Item List, and then choose the related link.
On the Webshop Item List page, select the relevant item, and then on the action bar, in the Webshop group, choose the Images action.
-
On the Images page, add the images for the item. In the Source Path fields, enter the URL or choose the assist edit button to drop the image files.
You can include the following image formats: JPEG, PNG, GIF, and WebP.
Assigning images to item variants
You can also assign images to specific variant codes. This is useful when an item has visually distinct variants. For example, a necklace available in silver and gold can have separate images for each variant, rather than a single image for both.
Standardized image height
The TINX Copy Default Images to TINX Image Link table report populates the TINX Image - Video Link table 11205284. It copies product images stored in Business Central, one per item.
You can also define an image’s height before it is added to the table. The width adjusts automatically to maintain the correct aspect ratio. This functionality is particularly useful for companies selling products such as alcohol, where images often showcase bottles of varying shapes and sizes.
Select Search (Alt+Q) in the upper-right corner, enter Tinx Feature Management, and then choose the related link.
-
On the Features page, select the Feature: Enable resizing image during copy from Item to “Image - Video Link” with report “Copy Image to Image link” line, and then choose the Enable action.
-
On the Resize Image Setup page, specify the image height and define the parameters affecting the aspect ratio.
Select Search (Alt+Q) in the upper-right corner, enter TINX Copy Default Images to TINX Image Link table, and then choose the related link.
On the TINX Copy Default Images to TINX Image Link table page, set the filters as needed, and then choose Schedule or OK.
