Synchronize product links

Linking products in your webshop can generate extra sales because the links nudge customers to check related products while shopping. Using Tinx Connector, you can configure product links for your webshop.

Enable product link synchronization

The procedures in this article require that the appropriate synchronization dashboard and message definitions are running. Activate them depending on what you are going to achieve.

The following tables show the synchronization dashboard and message definition for some of the webshops. The codes for other supported webshops follow the same pattern.

To set up web item links

  1. Select Search (Alt+Q) in the upper-right corner, enter Webshop Item List, and then choose the related link.

  2. On the Webshop Item List page, select the item that customers will view or buy in the webshop, and then choose the Edit action. In the following steps, you add other items that the webshop suggests to customers when they look at or buy this item, for example as cross-sells or up-sells.

  3. On the Webshop Item Card page, choose the Links action, and then select one of the following actions.

    Web item links menu
    • Cross-Sell Items: Products with this type appear on the shopping cart page after a customer adds a product to the cart. When a customer navigates to the cart after adding a product, the cross-sells block displays a selection of items marked as cross-sell items. Cross-sell items are similar to impulse buys, such as magazines or candy, found at cash registers in grocery stores.
    • Up-Sell Items: Products with this type are presented as more ideal alternatives to what the customer is currently viewing. These items are often of higher quality, are more popular, and carry a higher profit margin. They appear on a product’s detail page.
    • Related Items: Related products also appear on the product detail page, usually on the right side of the screen. They are meant to be purchased in addition to the item the customer is viewing. Examples include extra laces when buying shoes, or a wax product for a rain jacket.
    • Grouped: These products let you create a new product using one or more existing products in your store. The links are shown on a grouped product via the Associated Product tab in the webshop.
    • Custom Links 1 and 2: Use these to define your own link type. Examples include installation for products that require installation, or maintenance for products that require maintenance.
  4. On the Web Item Link page, set up the Sales Channel field.

  5. In the Cross Item No. field, select the product you want to use as one of the link types above.
