How to install the Tinx apps in Business Central

This article explains how to install the Tinx Apps in your Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) Cloud environment.

You can install the extension in your sandbox and production environments as needed. We recommend starting in a sandbox environment to test configurations safely before going live.

1. Prerequisites

Before you begin, please make sure you have:

  • Access to your Business Central environment (sandbox or production)

  • Credentials with the SUPER permission set

  • Access to the Business Central Admin Center (helpful but not required for installation — mainly used later for connector updates)

  • Install a test webshop for your e-commerce platform such as Magento, Shopify, or WooCommerce. You need to have access to the backend of the webshop.

2. Install the Tinx Connector Extension

  1. Go to Microsoft AppSource. You can also open AppSource directly from within Business Central (via the Extension Marketplace).
  2. Search for Tinx.
  3. Select the e-commerce platform you wish to connect with. If you are browsing from within BC, click View on AppSource — this will direct you to the same AppSource page in your browser.

  4. Click Free Trial, and if needed, sign in with the Microsoft account that has permission to install extensions in BC.
  5. Select the environment where you want to install the extension.
  6. Confirm the installation and wait for the process to complete.

We strongly advise installing the connector in a staging or sandbox environment rather than directly in production, as this allows you to validate configurations and check user permission settings safely before going live.

3. Verify Installation

After the extension is installed and permissions are set:

  • Open Business Central → Extensions Management

  • Confirm that Tinx apps appear and are Installed. You will always see one general Tinx E-Commerce Extension (base) and a specific channel extension (for example: Magento, WooCommerce, or Shopify).

If the extension does not appear, please contact Tinx Support via your project ticket.

Important: Make sure the ‘Allow HttpClient Requests’ box is checked for both the generic E-Commerce Connector extension and the webshop-specific entry. You can find these settings when selecting Manage > View.

4. Next Steps

After completing steps 1–3, you can continue by following our article on setting up a connection with your chosen e-commerce platform. You can find those guides here:

If you need any assistance during this process, please don’t hesitate to contact our Support Team — they’re happy to help.

For customers who are actively setting up or fine-tuning their connector, we also offer a free one-hour session with a Tinx consultant for configuration or troubleshooting. To request this session, please contact our Sales Team.

5. Runtime App (On-Premise Versions)

If you are running Business Central On-Premise and require a runtime application instead of an AppSource installation, please reach out to our Sales Team or Support Team to request it.

Our development team will likely need the following information:

  • Your Business Central version
  • Your BC Partner Source Number (so we can extend your BC license with Tinx granules)

Once we’ve received this information, we will add the partner source number to Microsoft VOICE. After that, you can update your license with our granules and install the Tinx extension manually. For additional information, see this article.
