Welcome to Tinx E-Commerce Connector for Dynamics 365 Business Central

Tinx provides a set of apps that connect Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with your webshop, marketplace, or point-of-sale system, such as Shopify, Amazon, or Magento. All of those apps share the same core functionality. The apps can synchronize products, stock, prices, customers, and orders between Business Central and your platform. Tinx Connector is built for companies that sell online, in B2C, B2B, or both.

The following diagram shows an example of how Tinx Connector can connect Business Central with your webshop. Product data flows out to the webshop, and orders flow back into Business Central.

Connect with your webshop

There's a separate connector app for each platform, and you can run more than one sales channel from a single Business Central company. To connect a platform, you generate an API key in its backend and create a sales channel in Business Central.

Select your platform to learn how to connect it:

Order and customer processing

Orders from your sales channels first appear on the Webshop Orders page in Business Central, where Tinx Connector matches the customer and the items before it creates a sales order. You decide what happens next, such as releasing the order, posting it as an invoice or shipment, or sending the status and tracking information back to the webshop.

To... Learn more here...
Import webshop orders as sales orders, with customer, line, shipping, and payment details, and review the orders that don't meet your criteria. Synchronize orders
Release, post, or ship imported sales orders automatically with inbound events. Automate order processing after import
Create customer cards from webshop customers, match orders to existing customers, handle guest orders, and publish customers to the webshop. Synchronize customers
Send invoices, order confirmations, and other sales documents as PDF files to your webshop. Synchronize sales document PDFs

Product information management

Manage product data once in Business Central and publish it to every sales channel. Tinx Connector adds e-commerce fields that standard Business Central doesn't have, such as web text and SEO metadata, multiple images, attribute sets, web categories, and product data per sales channel.

Webshop-specific articles

The core functionality is the same for every platform, although the Amazon app differs more from the core than the other apps do. The platform-specific articles cover only what differs, such as the report-based data exchange with Amazon, the Tinx B2B pricing and customer portal plugins for Magento and WooCommerce, and SparkLayer for B2B price lists on Shopify. For more information, see Integrations.

Monitoring and troubleshooting

Tinx Connector logs every data exchange with your webshop in Business Central. When something doesn't synchronize, the queue of pending changes, the log, and the job queue status show you where the process stopped.

About this documentation

Read the Business functionality section first. Then read the articles specific to your webshop in the Integrations section. The Business functionality section describes the core functionality, such as importing orders and publishing products. You must have this knowledge before you read the Integrations section.

Procedures in the Business functionality section are written for one webshop at a time. In most cases, the descriptions and screenshots use Magento, WooCommerce, or Shopify as the example. If you use a different webshop, the steps might differ slightly. Compare the codes and page names in the three examples to find the equivalents on your platform.

Procedures navigate through Search (Alt+Q) in Business Central, so they work for every user. If you use the TINX E-Com Admin role, you can also open the same pages from the Role Center.
